KÜMA special solutions for machine tools will come from ROMAI in the future

KÜMA in Ketsch

KÜMA Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH’s especially constructed and built machine components for machining have been established in the industry since the 70s. The company’s multi-spindle, drill, milling and turret heads, as well as the spindle and slide units constitute ideal components for machine tools. Known for precision and thanks to their constructive know-how, they are especially valued in the automobile industry. Specialities of KÜMA are machining heads for large-scale processing machines with rigidly driven, or pivoting i.e. positionable tools.

Since May 2014, the complete product range of KÜMA Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH has been carried forward by ROMAI Robert Maier GmbH in Vaihingen/Enz. “Construction, sale and final assembly, as well as the spare parts depot remain in Ketsch”, explains Mathias Maier, general manager of ROMAI. The manufacture of components will be carried out at ROMAI in Vaihingen in the future, in order to make use of manufacturing know-how and synergies. As a medium-size company and as a synonym for precision, ROMAI has developed, constructed and produced customer-specific precision transmission gears for machine tools for more than 55 years. The production of multi-spindle heads, angular heads, driven tools and machine components constitutes the core competence of ROMAI Robert Maier GmbH. The range stretches from standard to special gears, from one kilogram to 5,000 kilograms. Long years of experience, expert know-how and short delivery times make ROMAI one of the most sought-after companies offering tools and gears in all areas of machining – from the automotive industry to aeronautics and astronautics to wind turbines.
